Thought cards
Moon, Book, Letter, and Birds show mental and emotional activity toward you
Strong signal
Moon + Heart near the person's card = active emotional thoughts
Weak signal
Coffin or Mice next to the person's card = the thought is fading
In Lenormand, thought toward another person is read primarily through the Moon card (emotional and mental activity), the Book (something unsaid but present), and the Letter (intention to communicate, a message being prepared). When these cards appear in the other person's position or in their associated houses in the Grand Tableau, it is a direct signal of active mental presence.
Vaguely remembering someone is not the same as having active thoughts that generate intention or movement. In Lenormand, active thoughts are usually accompanied by movement cards (Rider, Ship, Crossroads) that reinforce the idea that the thought is seeking an outlet. Passive or nostalgic thoughts tend to be represented by Moon alone, without nearby action cards.
In the Grand Tableau, houses 28 (Man) and 29 (Woman) are the reference points for the other person. Observe which cards fall in those houses and which surround them. If the Moon falls in the Man house and the Heart is in adjacent cards, emotional thoughts are clear. If Letter or Birds are nearby, the impulse to communicate is also present.
In any oracle system, reading another person's internal state has limitations. Lenormand reads tendencies and probable states based on the current energy of the situation. It is more precise at detecting whether active mental presence exists than at describing the exact content of those thoughts.
The Book in the other person's position indicates there is something that person is not saying or sharing with you. It can be an emotional secret, an unrevealed intention, or simply that they are processing something internally before acting.
At most once a week. Consulting daily about the same person adds no new information and tends to generate interpretive confusion and anxiety. The useful practice is to wait for something to change in the real situation before asking again.
